Everyone has seen the countless videos of service members surprising their families on video. Whether it’s their kids at school, their wife or husband at home, or even the family dog in the yard, it always brings a smile to your face to watch.

During the pregame ceremony at the Anaheim Ducks vs. Edmonton Oilers game, Sergeant First Class Robert Vandenberg Jr. is shown on the Jumbotron in a Skype video from Romania. He has just finished a one-year deployment in Afghanistan and is on his way home for the holidays. The video is meant to be a special message to his wife and kids, who are present at the game– except he is really in the stadium.

Watch as Sergeant Vandenburg comes out, surprises his family, and meets his newborn son, Travis, for the first time. Thumbs up to the Ducks organization for helping to put this amazing surprise together.

I could watch a million of these and they’d never get old.

God bless the troops. God bless America.
