Bloomberg Politics apparently still has money left over from the reportedly million dollar hires of John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.
Two new adds this week are Toluse Olorunnipa (that’s a mouthful, huh?), who joins the bureau from Bloomberg‘s Tallahassee bureau, and Justin Sink, whom they swiped from The Hill to be a White House correspondent.
“Justin has been covering the Obama administration since the summer of 2011,” wrote Craig and Winnie in an internal memo. “He immediately won us over with his energy, reporting chops and smarts. Justin will hold down the fort on the early-morning shift at the White House, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board.”
Let’s hope Sink is a pleasant morning person.
Craig and Winnie encouraged staff by revealing the bureau’s breathtaking greatness.
“In recent weeks, our teams have broken some big stories, including our recent scoop that made Bloomberg first to reveal details of the president’s corporate tax plan. Stories like these put us ahead of the competition on topics Bloomberg readers care about most. With the addition of Tolu and Justin, we know that Bloomberg’s DC bureau will continue its commitment to being the first (and last) word in breaking news. Please welcome Justin and Tolu to the team.”
