Hillary Clinton admitted Tuesday at a press conference that she “opted for convenience” by using a singular private email address during her tenure as secretary of state.

Clinton, who made the remarks after a speech on women’s rights at the United Nations, added that “it would have been better if I had simply used a second email account,” walking back her decision to use her private email.

“I know there have been questions about my e-mails so I want to address that directly,” Clinton began. “When I got to work as secretary of state, I opted for convenience to use my personal email account, which was allowed by the State Department because I thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for my personal e-mails instead of two.”

“Looking back, it would have been better if I had simply used a second email account and carried a second phone, but at the time this didn’t seem like an issue,” Clinton added.
