NEW YORK — New York Republican Rep. Chris Gibson reportedly took a shot at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie during a Scott Walker donor event Monday afternoon.

An attendee told The Daily Caller that Gibson praised the Wisconsin governor, who attended the lunch at the Union League Club, for helping GOP Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino during his race against Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Astorino was also seen walking into the event on Monday.

The attendee said Gibson “thanked Walker for being a governor that actually helped Astorino last year.” (RELATED: Glenn Beck ‘Really, Really, Really, Really’ Wants To Like Scott Walker)

As Republican Governor Association chairman, Christie refused to cross the river and help Astorino’s campaign. At the time, Christie said that helping Astorino was not worth the time or money of him or the RGA.

Other governors, like Walker, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Nikki Haley and Mike Pence, donated money to Astorino’s campaign and visited New York to help the Westchester County Republican in his race, which he lost last November.
