In Texas, playing high school athletics is more than just a hobby, it’s a way of life.
Books like “Friday Night Lights” give outsiders a glimpse into the depths Texan athletes are willing to explore in order to achieve greatness, and it looks like football is no longer the only “ride or die” sport in the Lone Star State.
Needville took on Huffman Hargrave in the AAAA state softball championships over the weekend, and Needville’s catcher showed she was more than willing to get physical while protecting the dish.
To be honest, I kind of like this. Was it dirty? Sure, but there’s no rules in love and war.
Plus, the Huffman Hargrave player kind of had it coming the second time.
Fool me once…
