Donald Trump was a longtime friend of Joan Rivers, but her daughter Melissa said that doesn’t mean she’ll vote for him for president.
During a Q&A session in Los Angeles Tuesday, the 47-year-old, who is taking over for her mother on E!’s “Fashion Police,” talked about her mother’s relationship with Trump.
“I know Donald on such a different level,” Rivers said. “Do I agree with his comments? No. I don’t agree with what he said, but I do think he is very, very smart.”

Trump angered many during his presidential candidacy announcement in June when he said that “rapist” Mexicans were crossing the border bringing “drugs” and “crime.”
“He is never anyone to be counted out nor taken lightly. He’s Donald Trump for a reason. He’s like a cat. He always lands on his feet.”
But despite her mother and his friendship, Rivers said she won’t vote Trump for president.
“Right now, I’m all about Hillary. And I don’t think anybody could get me off that track.”
