It’ll never come when you call anyway.
When was the last time you even thought about Mt. McKinley? When was the first time?
House Speaker John Boehner said Monday he is “deeply disappointed” with President Obama’s decision to officially rename Mount McKinley to Denali, its traditional name, during a trip to Alaska to talk about the environment.
Boehner, like former President William McKinley, is from Ohio.
“There is a reason President McKinley’s name has served atop the highest peak in North America for more than 100 years, and that is because it is a testament to his great legacy,” Boehner said in a statement.
Out of all the reasons to slam Obama after six years in office, this comes in dead last. But I guess if Boehner can’t stop any of Obama’s other bad ideas from coming to pass, he might as well whine about a stupid mountain. Way to rally the troops, champ.
At least Obama didn’t name a mountain after himself. He’s saving that honor for one of his fans.
