There’s confusion over nude photos and a missing apology in the Miss America realm.
Vanessa Williams agreed to return as a judge for the beauty pageant this year — 31 years after she was forced to give her crown back because Penthouse published unauthorized nude photos of her, though they had been taken before she won in 1984.
Williams agreed to return if a Miss America official apologized to her at the beginning of the show Sunday and gave her a new crown.
“It’s a new day,” Williams said in an interview this week. “And they are inviting me back as an example of, ‘This is what can happen to you in your life.’” (PHOTOS: Nude Photos Of Charlotte McKinney Surface On Instagram In Huge Hack)
But here’s the problem. The Miss America organization was under the impression that Williams would apologize, and now neither wants to apologize.
From TMZ:
“As of Thursday night, the 2 sides are at an impasse. The pressure’s on the organization, because a promo has been running non-stop touting Vanessa’s return.” (RELATED: Nude Photos Of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton Released In Huge Leak)
