Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson was not pleased after taking a dirty hit from Dallas Stars forward Ales Hemsky in the third period of Sunday’s game.

Ericsson was brutally boarded with a shot to the head by Hemsky that led to blood streaming down his face. In classic hockey fashion, Ericsson responded by throwing a couple punches to Hemsky’s face.

Ericsson was led to the penalty box with his bloody face while Hemsky wasn’t penalized at all, according to Yahoo Sports.

Red Wings star Johan Franzen posted a picture on Instagram showing his clear displeasure with how the situation played out.
