According to the latest Monmouth University poll, Ben Carson has pulled even with Donald Trump in South Carolina’s Republican primary.

Carson’s 28 percent narrowly edged-out Trump’s 27 percent but is within the statistical margin of error. Carson’s numbers have jumped from the 15 percent he earned in Monmouth’s August South Carolina poll, reports The Hill. (RELATED: Carson Trumps Trump In Latest Iowa Poll)

Carson’s 76 percent favorability rating is tops among Republicans. Trump sits in second with 58 percent. (POLL: Carson Destroys Clinton In Head-To-Head Race)

Florida Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore] (11), Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] (9) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (7) round out the rest of the top five, but pollsters noted that only “17 percent of voters said they have firmly decided” on a candidate.

Sen. [crscore]Lindsey Graham[/crscore] earned 1 percent in his home state.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
