A small plane crashed into an apartment building in Akron, Ohio, Tuesday afternoon, and now the building is engulfed in flames, according to local police reports.

The plane was a Hawker 25 small jet bound for Akron Fulton Airport, according to an FAA spokesman. The fire department reported at least two people to be dead.

A witness told newsnet5.com that she heard a “loud explosion.” Employees at a nearby construction company told Fox 8 News that they heard noise from the engine and then what sounded like a “car hitting a telephone pole.” When they rushed outside, they saw flames and black smoke.

The building is located at the intersection of Mogadore Street and Skelton Road and several streets are closed off in the city.
