Following Washington’s 44-16 loss to the undefeated Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher told members of the press that referees unfairly penalize the team because the NFL doesn’t approve of its name.

Hatcher makes a fair point. That being said, I’m pretty sure Washington’s L had more to do with Panthers QB Cam Newton throwing a career-high five touchdowns than any nefarious behavior on the part of the league. (RELATED: ‘Dick Balls’ — Redskins Launch Expletive-Riddled Trademark Appeal)
