Nancy Kerrigan is devastated by the death of her friend Garrett Swasey, the officer who died responding to a call about a shooting spree inside of a Planned Parenthood Friday.
The 44-year-old had been an officer for the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs for six years.
The famous figure skater choked up while remembering Swasey, who she said was “like a little brother” to her.
“It’s so sad,” Kerrigan said. “He has two young kids and they run to him when he comes in the door.”
She remembered Swasey as a “hard worker” and “great friend.”
“I am not surprised with the way he was living his life, as a police officer helping others,” Kerrigan said. “It makes total sense, he was always like that.”
“He’s still in my heart like a little brother, a true friend, a very loyal, caring person and a good listener. My heart goes out and breaks for [all the victims.]” (RELATED: Chrissy Teigen Urges Fans To Donate To Planned Parenthood After Shooting)
