In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif., Americans cite terrorism as the number one problem in the U.S., a poll released Monday says.

According to Gallup, the number of people who feel terrorism is the number one issue in America rose dramatically from just 3 percent in November to 16 percent in December– the highest number in a decade.

“Whether terrorism remains atop the list of Americans’ concerns or recedes in the coming months likely will depend on the government’s response to the terror threat as well as the occurrence, or the lack, of major attacks in the U.S. or elsewhere,” the polling company said in its findings.
