In the midst of a fierce exchange of words during Thursday’s GOP debate on CNN, Marco Rubio said that if Donald Trump hadn’t inherited $200,000,000, he’d be “selling watches in Manhattan.”
“Here’s a guy who buys a house for $179,000,” Trump said of Rubio. “He sells it to a lobbyist whose probably here for 380,000 and then legislation is passed. You tell me about this guy.”
Rubio returned fire at the real estate mogul by asserting, “here’s a guy who inherited $200,000,000. If he hadn’t inhereted 200,000,000 you know where Donald Trump would be? Selling watches in Manhattan.”
“That is so wrong,” Trump retorted. “I took $1,000,000 and turned it in to $10,000,000,000.”
