Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] has called on Donald Trump to fire his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in the aftermath of alleged assault on former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.

In an interview with conservative talk radio host Dana Loesch on Monday, Cruz said, “There’s no doubt, physically assaulting a reporter is a firing offence.” (RELATED: Reporter Posts Photo Of Bruise After Saying Trump Campaign Manager ‘Yanked Me Down’)

Cruz was referring to an incident where Lewandowski allegedly grabbed the arm of Fields leaving a bruise. Fields ia a former video reporter at The Daily Caller.

The Texas senator and presidential candidate argued that “at the end of the day, every candidate bears responsibility for their campaign, for the behavior of their campaign and to see a reporter physically assaulted raises real questions and it raises real questions about how the Trump campaign treats the voters, how they treat the press, how they treat protesters– all of them, they treat them as enemies.” (RELATED: Breitbart’s Michelle Fields And Ben Shapiro Resign)

Later, Cruz added “the behavior of the Trump campaign towards the voters and towards the press is disturbing and we need a president who doesn’t divide us.”
