Recently, we wrote about the only way to get an Amazon Echo Dot — that is, by ordering via another Alexa product.
Today, that process just got a little easier. Because Amazon was ranked the “No. 1 Most Reputable Company in the U.S.” it is offering a one-day-only discount on the other products in the Echo family.
The Amazon Echo, which operates as your own personal assistant who will help you without your moving a finger, is discounted 15 percent. Normally the Echo costs $180, but for today only it is on sale for $153.71.

The Amazon Tap has pretty much the same functionality as the Echo, except you have to tap it to merit a response (hence the name). The Tap costs $130 and is now on sale for $111.01.

Today is the first time since Black Friday that Amazon has discounted its Alexa products, and quite honestly it has not had to. Alexa has earned ridiculously positive reviews lately. Turns out that people like the idea of playing music, ordering delivery and hailing a cab without getting off the sofa.
The reviews on the Echo’s listing demonstrate some of the laudatory remarks it has received. ZDNet called it “a perfect ten.” Re/code said, “With Amazon Echo, it was love at first sight.” If you want some positivity to cheer up your day, spend a couple of minutes checking out all the praise pouring over the product in the customer reviews section.
In a couple of years, everyone will have some sort of Alexa appliance in their household. It might be the Echo, it might be the Dot, it might even be a Fire TV. The only question is whether you will pay full price. Today, you don’t have to.
