Campaigning in Indiana, Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] told reporters he will make a “major announcement” at 4 p.m. Wednesday. And the signs indicate he will name former rival Carly Fiorina as his running mate.

The Texas senator, who lost badly to Donald Trump in Tuesday’s five primaries, is scheduled to hold a rally in Indianapolis at that time. There has been speculation Cruz could announce a running mate soon to try to help him regain some momentum in the race.

A user on social media tweeted that he saw former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, who has endorsed Cruz and appeared on the campaign trail with him, on a flight to Indiana on Tuesday.

A reporter for WMUR cited sources indicating Cruz will name Fiorina as his running mate.

NBC, on Wednesday afternoon, spotted Fiorina in Indianapolis.

Cruz regional chairman Gary Aminoff, a member the California leadership team, wrote on Twitter that Cruz will name Fiorina as his running mate.

Initially,  it was believed it was possible Cruz could be rolling out an endorsement from a high profile Republican in Indiana, a state that votes Tuesday.

Gov. Mike Pence, for example, has not endorsed in the race. But a local news reporter says Pence won’t be at the Cruz rally.
