America is reeling after the worst terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11. But why did it happen? A picture is starting to form.
Omar Mateen, the man who murdered 50 people and wounded 53 more at an Orlando nightclub, reportedly called 911 moments before the shooting to pledge his allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, according to NBC News reporter Pete Williams.

Of course, this raises more questions than it answers. If Omar Mateen was a Muslim, that means he was a victim. Who was victimizing him?
Kevin Daley has a good answer to that question:
Several American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) attorneys took to Twitter to blame the “Christian Right” for Sunday’s deadly terrorist attack at a nightclub in Orlando, Fla., which left 50 dead and 53 injured.
Chase Strangio, a staff attorney with the ACLU’s LGBT and AIDS Project, claimed the social and political environment cultivated by Christian conservatives in recent months was to blame for the shooting at Pulse, a nightclub popular with Orlando’s LGBT community.
The Christian Right has introduced 200 anti-LGBT bills in the last six months and people blaming Islam for this. No. #PulseNightclub

Would Omar Mateen have killed those people if he’d lived in a country without the scourge of the Christian Right? He wouldn’t have had to, because in Muslim countries, homosexuals are publicly executed before they can even start their own nightclubs. Clearly, Christians are to blame here.
Of course, if there were no such things as guns, then the brainwashed dupes of white Christian teabaggers wouldn’t be able to shoot anybody. Aviva Shen, “Think” “Progress”:
How was Omar Saddiqui Mateen able to carry out the deadliest massacre by a single gunman in U.S. history? By bringing “America’s gun of choice” into a closed and crowded space.
Orlando police recovered an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle at Pulse, the gay nightclub that Mateen chose as his target. He reportedly bought the AR-15 and a handgun legally within the last few days…
The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in the U.S.; there are an estimated 9 million in circulation as of 2014.
See? There are 9 million other potential Omar Mateens out there. This could happen 9 million more times.
Whereas if we ban guns, it’ll happen zero more times. Which would you prefer, 9 million mass shootings or zero mass shootings?
It’s called logic, people.
It’s sad that the very same right-wing Christians who brainwashed Mateen into killing all those people are now politicizing this shooting by criticizing common-sense gun safety measures. No guns = no gun crimes. It’s working in California, right?
The answer is clear. If it weren’t for Christians and guns, Omar Mateen wouldn’t have murdered all those people. We need to ban both guns and Christianity.
My condolences to the real victims here: the Muslim-American community.
