Islamic terrorist Omar Mateen appeared in a 2012 documentary attacking BP over the energy company’s 2010 oil spill, where he can be heard ranting and raving against the company’s supposed corruption.
“Everybody’s just, get out to get paid,” he said in the documentary called “The Big Fix,” according to CBS News. “They’re like hoping for more oil to come out and more people to complain so they’ll have jobs. They want more disaster to happen.”
In effect, Mateen added, BP wants more disasters “to happen, because that’s where the money is.”
The Orlando, Fla., shooter claimed allegiance to Islamic State and then murdered 49 and wounded another 53 before being killed by police Sunday morning.
He worked for G4S, one of the world’s largest private security firms, when the documentary was filmed; Mateen was a security guard with G4S from 2007 until the time of the shooting.

Democrats note that while Mateen may have been a registered Democrat in 2006, his ideology could very well have changed during the past decade.
Kim LaCapria of Snopes, who reported on Mateen’s voter registration, was one such media personality urging people to be careful calling Mateen a Democratic operative.
“What that lone fact means is the subject of a good deal of speculation, with possibilities ranging from Mateen’s being a supporter of Democratic ideology to his simply having chosen a random political affiliation when he initially registered. Mateen didn’t appear on the FBI’s radar until 2013, and it’s possible that in the ten years between 2006 and 2016 his political outlook (whatever it was to begin with) might have changed radically, even if his voter registration did not).”
