Texas Rep. Michael McCaul says that President Barack Obama’s policies are directly responsible for the Orlando terrorist attack which killed 49 people.
In an interview on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday, guest host Jonathan Karl asked McCaul if he agreed with Sen. John McCain that Obama’s policies were “directly responsible” for the Orlando terrorist attack. (RELATED: McCain: Obama ‘Directly Responsible’ For Orlando Terror Attack [VIDEO])
McCaul, the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, replied, “Yeah, I won’t make the personal attack, but I do think the foreign policy that’s been conducted over the last three-and-a-half years since we’ve known about ISIS has led to this.”
“When you fail in foreign policy, this is what happens,” McCaul said. “We have not had a military strategy for ISIS for the last three-and-a-half years, much less political, diplomatic.”
“So, as John Brennan talked about, the CIA director, they’ve expanded in their capabilities, not diminished. And I agree with the CIA director, that the threat environment is probably the highest we’ve seen since 9/11.” (RELATED: CIA Admits US Has Not Reduced ISIS’s Global Terror Reach [VIDEO])
Earlier in the interview, McCaul warned that the Orlando terrorist attack “will not be the last attack in the United States. I’m certain that there is another individual like [Omar] Mateen out there, the Orlando shooter, who is radicalizing as we speak.”
