Democratic congressmen are mad they haven’t voted on a gun-ban bill yet, so on Wednesday, they sat down on the floor of the House of Representatives. The House banged the gavel and ended the session, cutting off the cameras and most of their publicity, but thanks to social media, we get to catch a glimpse of congressional floor-sitting styles.
Like, say, Rep. John Lewis, whose preferred method stirs in our soul the timeless beauty of Titian’s “Venus and an Organist and a Little Dog.”

Now compare that with this man-pose right here:
Got to respect that stance there. The old right-knee-in-the-air, left-boot-under-the-arch sit, looking down at the cell phone you wish was a pack of cigarettes. Reminds us of something we saw back in ’74:
Yep. Now that is a sit. But speaking of cowboys… did anyone catch this stance right here?
We don’t want to judge before all the facts are in, but it would appear our cowboy stance is directly across from an Indian-style sitter.
And there’s another one right there!
That, we report with heavy hearts, is cultural appropriation, and these congressmen should know better.
Highly not OK.
