I know a lot of people are excited about the Benghazi report that came out today, but I tend to agree with my old pal Sonny Bunch: The Obama administration lied to squeak through the election, it worked, and now they’ll get away with it. The facts don’t matter. The Democrat tribe will just blame the Republican tribe again, and nothing will change. Dems don’t care about the truth, as long as their tribe wins.
But if you have a really dark sense of humor, this detail about the utter ineptitude of our leaders is morbidly amusing. Rachael Bade, Politico:
State Department officials on an emergency conference call during the Benghazi attack brought up concerns about whether Marines that might have been deployed should wear uniforms — something officials previously said could hurt diplomacy in the region, according to House Benghazi investigators.
The final GOP-authored House Benghazi report released Tuesday included new details of a two-hour video teleconference call the night of the attack, a session led by White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough. Clinton and top Defense officials were also on the call…
The report also found that a State official brought up a question about whether Marines should wear civilian clothing instead of their uniforms…
But, one commander told the committee that as they were readying themselves to deploy they kept having to change in and out of their uniforms four times.
They ended up not deploying at all. Four Americans were murdered in a coordinated terrorist attack that had nothing to do with any stupid YouTube video, but at least the Obama administration didn’t have to deal with an embarrassing fashion faux pas.
It’s not the Marines’ fault, of course. I’m sure they wanted to go save our people. They actually care about America and Americans more than their own skins, unlike the people giving them their orders.
Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and everyone else who lied about Benghazi have disgraced themselves every step of the way. It’s too bad the Republicans aren’t nominating someone who can beat these creeps. I’m not looking forward to 8 more years of this garbage.
