Obama Lets 16 More Firearms Crooks Loose
Wednesday, President Obama commuted another 111 sentences of people who were convicted of drug charges. He’s set a record for a single month – and is promising many more commutations. In this latest batch, though, Obama let loose another 16 people who had violated federal gun laws, as well as a drug kingpin who moved over 300 pounds of cocaine and who was serving a life sentence.
These folks got those harsh sentences for a reason. They had victims, they were not victims of a drug war. Obama’s not quite been able to make the sale with Congress, so he’s letting them out on his own. Of course, ever since they began locking up the crooks, the crime rate went down. But now that the crooks are being let out… what do you think will happen to the crime rate?
San Jose Police Chief Calls For Gun Control
Eddie Garcia is holding the position once held by Joe McNamara – Chief of the San Jose Police Department. Like McNamara, Garcia is pushing gun control, claiming there are too many guns. Now, the city whose police department Garcia leads is in… California. That’s right, the same California with the strict gun control laws that didn’t stop convicted felon (and pop singer) Chris Brown from getting a gun that he pointed at a woman earlier this week.
Chief Garcia… and it’s more respect for your position than respect for your brains, you look around, asking “How can this happen?” I’ll tell you how this happens: When you let violent criminals out of prison way early, they are able to commit more crimes and victimize more people! This is not the fault of the NRA, it’s not the fault of law-abiding gun owners… hey politicians… wake up and smell the toast.
A College Reveals Its Policy on Firearms
While many colleges oppose Second Amendment rights, Liberty University is living up to its name – and bucking that trend. Since the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007, Liberty University has been very supportive of the Second Amendment. This is no gun-free shooting gallery for terrorists or nut cases.
The latest common sense pro-Second Amendment policy is allowing students in dorms to keep firearms, provided certain conditions are met, including the installation of a gun safe and permission from any resident assigned to a room.
“I want to have a gun so I can protect myself,” Jordan Stein, president of the Students at Liberty for Gun Rights club said. “I want to be able to protect myself at all times.”
Way to go, Liberty University!
Obama Administration Targets Ammo Industry
Barack Obama’s seen his push for gun control thwarted in Congress. But, as he noted on immigration, he had a phone and a pen. Now, unable to go after guns, the Obama Administration may have turned guns into paperweights with a new regulation. Now, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, wetted nitrocellulose, a key component of gunpowder (which propels the bullets), a high explosive.
This move triggers a lot of requirements, and those bureaucrats have not allowed for any grace period and didn’t provide advance notice. Sounds fishy, doesn’t it?
Just remember, what Obama does with his phone and pen can be undone the same way if the right person is President. There’s about two months to go.
Hillary: Shut Down Dealers For Paperwork Mistakes
Should a “Y” instead of “Yes” result in losing a Federal Firearms License? Hillary Clinton says “Yes” to that. Hillary took that position in a response to a questionnaire sent out by the anti-gun International Association of Chiefs of Police.
In 2010, Larry Keene said, “One issue we see often is that the same mistake on a form repeated each time, like ‘Y’ instead of ‘Yes’ or an abbreviation of a county, gets misrepresented as ‘hundreds of violations’ by anti-gun interest groups. ATF says they have to note each one of the violations. So the ‘number of violations’ a dealer might have can be very misleading.”
In other words, Hillary would take away an FFL on what is basically a bureaucrat’s whim. Typical gun-grabber nonsense.
