In an absolutely scathing review of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s new book Monday, Washington Post writer Carlos Lozada characterizes it as “an embarrassment,” and says it’s “sloppy, repetitive, dutiful and boring.”

“By the time I finished this book, I resented its existence,” Lozada writes, adding: “You don’t need to wade through this book. No one does. No one should. The only people I imagine reading it are future fact-checkers, masochistic book critics and the most strung out of political junkies.”

Clinton and her vice presidential pick Sen. Tim Kaine co-authored the book, titled “Stronger Together,” which is billed as an “agenda in full” on “everything” the campaign is planning to do.

“They have a plan,” Lozada writes. “And that’s great, except, if ‘Stronger Together’ is any indication, that plan reflects an unwillingness to grapple with trade-offs, an inability to set priorities and an obsession with checking boxes for every possible issue, even when they have nothing new to say about it. Imagine a State of the Union address where nothing is cut, and every interest group gets not just a couple of sentences, but a couple of pages.”

In addition to being less than enthused with the mass of issues addressed, Lozada says Clinton adds nothing new, which would be hard for her to do since she is already so well-known by the public. He goes so far as to call the book “deplorable” in his headline, using the word Clinton recently drummed up to describe the “half” of Trump supporters she believes are racist, sexist, Islamaphobic bigots.

“The deja vu is plentiful, not just because we’ve heard so much of this stuff during the campaign, but because Clinton and Kaine repeat themselves, often verbatim, throughout the book,” he writes. “The first few times, it’s vaguely amusing, as though you’ve caught an embarrassing mistake. But then you remember that to feel shame, the authors would have to care.”
