Legendary baseball announcer Vin Scully remembered former Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez during a game Sunday.

“Talking about the late Jose Fernandez. It’s rather an ironic note. He sent a tweet, believe it or not, back in 2015 September the first probably, and I’m only guessing, probably had read this somewhere. Throw back to second. Close but no cigar. Anyways, young Jose a year ago wrote the following, ‘If you were given a book with the story of your life would you read the end?’ He was 23 then and already thinking some pretty deep thoughts,” the famous Dodgers announcer told his audience about Fernandez during the Dodgers game against the Colorado Rockies.

Fernandez and two others were killed in a tragic boating accident that shocked baseball fans everywhere. (RELATED: Baseball Star Killed In Tragic Boat Crash)

The star pitcher was only 24 years old at the time of his death.
