Ebony Editor: I Want Trump Supporters To Die
The editor of a prominent black website wished death upon Republican nominee Donald Trump’s supporters for their political beliefs.
Damon Young, a contributing editor for Ebony.com, wrote an op-ed Wednesday explaining why he’s voting for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, before writing he wants Trump supporters die.
“Yes, you read that correctly. I want these motherfuckers to lose. And if losing what might be the last winnable election for them in a millennia isn’t enough for them to move into the 21st century, I wouldn’t terribly mind if they withered the fuck away and died,” Young wrote for VerySmartBrothas.com
Since Trump supporters are motivated by “hate and fear and loathing,” Young said he’s voting for Clinton because he cannot live in an America where Trump supporters would have any reason “to be optimistic about their beliefs.”
“I do not want these people to feel good or inspired. I do not want them to receive some type of collective psychic victory. I do not want them to experience any measure of positive reinforcement,” Young wrote.
Young assumes that all Trump supporters hate him and “people who look like me.” The editor maintains the only way to change their hatred is for them to experience the shame and confusion by losing the election.
If that shame is not enough to convince them to stop hating people, Young wished death on all Trump supporters.
“No, nothing besides confusion, shame, and, if the confusion and the shame isn’t enough to convince them to at least consider not hating me and people who look like me and people who don’t look like them, death,” Young maintained.
The editor also said he would write them a thank you note if they were kind enough to die.
“I’ll even write them a card. And the card will say ‘Thank you,'” Young finished.
A Black Lives Matter organizer expressed disdain with the election in August, saying that the entire election was a “tyrannical pageant of white fear.”
