GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump managed to defeat his Democratic opponent former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by 4 points, the Associated Press announced Thursday.

The billionaire took in 49 percent of the vote to Clinton’s 45 percent, providing the billionaire with an additional 11 electoral votes.

Arizona is a traditionally red state, with Republicans winning every presidential election since 1996.

Losing the endorsement of GOP Sen. John McCain, who was in a tight battle to retain his seat against Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, and failing to receive Sen. Jeff Flake’s support does not appear to have had a large negative impact on voters in the state.

The Clinton campaign strongly appealed to Latino voters in Arizona, using Trump’s pledge to build a wall as a way to attack him. Both candidates campaigned in the state on more than one occasion, with Trump launching his presidential campaign in Phoenix in July and subsequently delivering a highly publicized speech outlining his immigration policies there in August.

The Real Clear Politics average showed Trump with a 4-point advantage in the days leading up to the election.

The results in the Grand Canyon State were announced two days after the election was called in Trump’s favor.
