Anti-war leftist protest group Code Pink disrupted the confirmation hearing of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, and were eventually thrown out for protesting the event.
Democratic activists criticize Sessions as a suitable choice for attorney general because they allege Sessions has a dubious historical relationship with civil rights leaders. Sessions asserts that his record is misconstrued by Democrats, and that he has a long history working with civil rights leaders.
Code Pink’s website says the organization “is a women-led grassroots organization working to end U.S. wars and militarism, support peace and human rights initiatives, and redirect our tax dollars into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming programs.”
The protester shouted out that Sessions was “evil,” begging members of the Senate Judiciary Committee not to confirm Sessions.
