The Senate Committee on Foreign Relation’s confirmation hearing of former ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson was interrupted a third time by a very vocal protester.
A female activist, holding a “Reject Rexx” sign, stood up and interrupted the hearing by yelling “oil is dead” and imploring lawmakers to vote against Tillerson’s confirmation as secretary of state for President-elect Donald Trump.
“In our home state of Texas, people are resisting … pipelines,” the activist yelled. “Whether or not you become Secretary of State, oil is dead and people will not stop.”
“Senators, be brave, reject this man!” she yelled before being escorted out by police.

This is the second major interruption of Tillerson’s confirmation hearing by an environmental activist, but overall three protesters have been taken out of the hearing chamber for interruptions.
Earlier in the hearing, a protester stood up and yelled about her home being destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
“Rex Tillerson, I reject you,” said the activist before being taken out of the room. “My home was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy!”

Before that, a man and woman were taken out of the hearing room after leading the chant, “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA.”
