Ted Cruz told Sean Hannity that he is “very happy in the Senate” when the Fox News host pressed him on possibly serving on the Supreme Court Tuesday night.

“I am very happy in the Senate,” the Texas Senator laughed. “I think the Senate is going to be the battleground for this fight, but what I’ve encouraged the president and the administration is to go with someone with a proven track record.”
“This is Scalia’s seat,” Hannity noted. “We need an originalist in that seat.”
“In the past, every time we’ve rolled the dice,” Cruz added. “Every time someone’s said, ‘trust me, there’s no paper trail.’ It’s been 100 percent of the time a train wreck.”
Cruz further explained that Senate Republicans “should do whatever it takes to get” Donald Trump’s eventual SCOTUS nominee “confirmed.”
