President Trump hinted at the possibility of a “very dramatic” deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Mar-A-Lago next week in an interview with the Financial Times that ran Sunday afternoon.

“I have great respect for him. I have great respect for China. I would not be at all surprised if we did something that would be very dramatic and good for both countries and I hope so,” Trump told FT.

Trump warned in the same interview that the U.S. is willing to unilaterally address the North Korean nuclear threat, if China isn’t willing to help.

“China has great influence over North Korea. China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won’t,” Trump said. “If China is not going to solve North Korea, we will.” (RELATED: Trump: ‘If China Is Not Going To Solve North Korea, We Will’)

The president previously said he expects the meeting with Xi “will be a very difficult one.”
