Authorities are in the process of searching for a family that was last seen on radar Monday traveling within the Bermuda Triangle in a small plane.
Nathan Ulrich, 52, Jennifer Blumin, 40, and her two young sons were identified as the people on board the plane.
The U.S. Coast Guard’s seventh district, which covers the general southeast area, sent out a notice of an “overdue aircraft” on Twitter, meaning the plane went off the radar and lost communication with air traffic control officials in Miami.

“There’s no indication of significant adverse weather at the time,” said Lt. Cmdr. Ryan Kelly, a spokesman for the Coast Guard, according to ABC7.
The plane, which took from Puerto Rico, was last detected Monday traveling near the island of Eleuthera, Bahamas at around 24,000 feet, according to The New York Post. The family’s intended destination was Titusville, Florida.
“It’s a search and rescue. We’re searching as long as we think we can find them alive,” U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Eric Woodall said, reports The New York Post.
Some argue that the aircraft they were reportedly using, the MU-2, is more dangerous than others. Former Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado introduced legislation to forbid the plane’s flight over safety concerns, according to a Flying Magazine article published in 2008.
The last location they were known to be is within the Bermuda Triangle, the general area between southern Florida, the island of Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. The Bermuda Triangle is usually seen as ominous because it has a history of missing persons, specifically ones onboard aircraft and watercraft.
