Oh no, another mean Republican has dared to utter a harsh reality of life. To the battlements, socialists!

Mallory Shelbourne, The Hill:

Rep. Adrian Smith (R-Neb.) on Saturday avoiding directly answering a question on whether all Americans are entitled to eat.

During an interview with NPR’s “Weekend Edition Saturday,” Smith discussed farm subsidies and cutting food stamps with host Scott Simon.

“Well, let me ask you this bluntly — is every American entitled to eat?” Simon asked.

“Well, they — nutrition, obviously, we know is very important. And I would hope that we can look to —” Smith responded.

And it went on like that. Smith didn’t directly answer this very stupid question.

So I will: No, Scott Simon, nobody is entitled to eat. Nobody is entitled to the product of someone else’s labor. You’re not entitled to force other people to give you things, whether or not it’s in their best interest. Lincoln put a stop to that whole practice (Google it).

The food we eat doesn’t just miracle itself onto our supermarket shelves and restaurant plates and takeout containers. A whole lot of people have to do a whole lot of work to put it there, and you’re not entitled to it just because you need it to live. The same goes for shelter, and medical care, and everything else we’ve now falsely branded as “rights.” If somebody else has to provide it for you, you don’t have the right to just take it. Every society that ignores or forgets this basic fact will end in ruin eventually.

If you don’t believe me, just look at what’s going on in Venezuela right now. That’s what happens.

But please don’t listen, Democrats. Keep chasing unicorns. Keep losing elections.

P.S. Yes, I know, I’m fat. And I’m paying for it, in every possible sense. Plus, Michael Moore is the biggest commie alive, in every possible sense.
