Tom Price, Health and Human Services secretary, got booed as he took the mound to throw out the first pitch at the Washington Nationals’ game on Wednesday.
Reportedly, a few cheers were recognized, but the crowd was overwhelming disappointed with Price’s presence at the start of the game.
Price has been a strong advocate for the repeal and replacement of the Obamacare health care law. His advocacy for the reform of the current health care system has led him to lobby with lawmakers and appear on Sunday morning shows.
In June, Price told CNN that he believes many Republicans don’t understand Trump’s plan for health care, according to the Washington Examiner.
Typically, the Health and Human Services secretary isn’t a household name, but with ongoing discourse surrounding health care and Price’s role in the discussion, Americans are more aware of the position.
People turned to Twitter to share the dismay at the park.
