Blake Bortles is entering his fourth season with the Jacksonville Jaguars and will not be the starting quarterback in their next preseason game. Bortles was the third overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft and has been the starting quarterback for the Jaguars since 2015.

Head coach Doug Marrone has made the decision to take Bortles out as the starter and put Chad Henne in as the starter. As the preseason wore on Bortles, he and Henne ended up in a competition for who would gain the starting position.

Bortles has had 63 turnovers and 18 interceptions since his start in 2014. In 2015, Bortles had a much better season with for 4,000 yards and had 35 touchdowns, but it is just a distant memory for the quarterback.

Henne has been more of a backup throughout his eight year NFL career and only played in 53 games. Henne’s record in the NFL is 18-35, so this will be interesting to see how it plays out.

The Jaguars play the Carolina Panthers tonight at 7:30p.m., and all I can say is at least the Jaguars have home field advantage.
