Senate Democrats are angrily reacting to news that President Donald Trump is planning to end DACA with a six-month delay.
“Ending DACA…[is] not leadership, President Trump–its disgraceful,” Sen. Patty Murray wrote of the decision.
Ending #DACA would rip apart hardworking families and upend entire communities. That’s not leadership, President Trump—its disgraceful.

Dreamers have only ever called the U.S. their home. This is their country.
This action is an affront to who we are as Americans. https://t.co/lemLcEP8sa

The Trump Administration’s decision, to rescind DACA is taking our country backwards. For DREAMers like Acuña family, we must keep fighting!

Senator Ben Cardin asserted that Trump has no “legit reason” to end DACA, ignoring arguments from conservatives about rule of law and the potential unconstitutionality of the executive order.
Worth repeating that most DREAMers have only known USA as home. Without legit reason, real families will be hurt by @POTUS. #DefendDACA

Sen. Kamala Harris called the move “heartless.”
Ending DACA would be nothing short of heartless. It’s on us to demand a vote on the DREAM Act. We must stand with our Dreamers. https://t.co/pi30H6mA1J

Dear Republicans, your moment has come. Every Democrat will join you. Show the courage and grace to save these children, and our nation. https://t.co/M8bGZqpYmT

“This is an enormous moral and economic mistake,” Sen. Brian Schatz declared.
DACA kids work, study, serve in military. Kicking them out undermines American traditions. This is an enormous moral and economic mistake.
— Brian Schatz (@brianschatz) September 4, 2017
These are kids who only want to be good, hardworking Americans. @POTUS ought to rethink before he does huge damage to them & the economy. https://t.co/eFgC1fW0k3

Sen. Bernie Sanders chimed in with some wild rhetoric, calling the move to end DACA “one of the ugliest and cruelest decisions ever made by a president in our modern history.”
If Trump decides to end DACA, it will be one of the ugliest and cruelest decisions ever made by a president in our modern history. https://t.co/EXfRAy5azO

Young people affected by #DACA are American in every way except immigration status. @POTUS ending program is not who we should be as nation.
— Sen. Al Franken (@SenFranken) September 4, 2017
Congress MUST act to protect #DACA recipients. I’m ready to vote “YES” on the DREAM Act!
