President Donald Trump slammed NBC News as “knowingly inaccurate” Saturday morning, presumably over the outlet reporting on tension at the State Department.

Trump criticized the outlet for its recent reports on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his allegedly calling the president a “moron.”

“. is so knowingly inaccurate with their reporting. The good news is that the PEOPLE get it, which is really all that matters! Not #1,” Trump tweeted out.

NBC News published a report citing senior administration officials who claimed Tillerson had referred to Trump as a “moron” after Trump addressed members at a July 20 Pentagon meeting. Tillerson had come close to resigning from his position, the report also stated.

Tillerson gave a press conference Wednesday to address the rumors, denying that he had ever thought about leaving the State Department.

“I have never considered leaving this post,” he told the press. When asked if he had called Trump a “moron,” Tillerson refused to answer the question as he is “not going to deal with petty stuff like that.”
