The Big Ten’s reign at the top of the college football polls continued in the latest ones released Sunday afternoon.

Alabama sits at the top, but the Big Ten has the most teams in the top ten of the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll.

The top 10 for the AP are:

1) Alabama

2) Penn State

3) Georgia

4) TCU

5) Wisconsin

6) Ohio State

7) Clemson

8) Miami

9) Oklahoma

10) Oklahoma State

The top 10 in the Coaches Poll are:

1) Alabama

2) Penn State

3) Georgia

4) TCU

5) Wisconsin

6) Ohio State

7) Miami

8) Clemson

9) Oklahoma

10) USC

I can’t remember the last time college football was this wide open. There are six or seven different teams that are legitimate title contenders.

If I had to throw out a guess right now about the championship game, I’d guess it’ll be Alabama against the winner of the Big Ten. Georgia likely won’t beat Alabama in the SEC title game and won’t get into the playoffs with a loss and no conference championship over a one loss conference champion.

I also don’t see TCU being strong enough to beat OSU, PSU or Wisconsin. Wouldn’t it be something if the SEC got smacked in the national title game by a Big 10 school? It would officially signify the torch has been passed, something I’ve been saying for the past two years.
