Fans of the Tennessee Volunteers started a movement to empty out the stadium for football games in protest of coach Butch Jones.
Jones is one of the worst coaches in all of major football, and it’s not surprising fans are revolting. However, it is a bit surprising to see fans willing to not even go to games. It all started with the “#EmptyNeyland” movement on Twitter.

If you want a good laugh, check out #EmptyNeyland. I think it’s safe to say that Vol fans are 110% done!

Currie is putting players in a position where they have to defend Butch everyday. It’s shameful to do that to these kids. #EmptyNeyland

Let’s add one last record to Butch’s wall of shame this week: lowest attendance in Neyland’s history. #EmptyNeyland

Part of me likes this move because Jones has to get fired. There’s no doubt that something absolutely has to be done.
However, you should ride with your team during the best of times and the worst of times. My Wisconsin Badgers rock and roll the competition, but I’d still be there even if they didn’t. Seems a bit soft to bounce out when the going gets tough. That’s not the spirit that’s going to win a national championship.
