Symone Sanders, former national press secretary for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, said Monday on CNN that she believes Democratic Sen. Al Franken has “integrity.”

Franken was accused of sexual misconduct by a second woman on Monday after news anchor Leeann Tweeden said he forcibly kissed her and groped her in 2006. Lindsay Menz told CNN that Franken grabbed her butt during a 2010 photo-op at the Minnesota State Fair, making her feel “gross” and “uncomfortable.” (RELATED: New Accuser Says Al Franken Inappropriately Touched Her)

While Sanders admitted that such behavior is wrong, she also made sure to indicate that Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore’s alleged pedophilia is much worse.

“I wanna be clear that I am not equating Sen. Al Franken to Roy Moore, who has been accused of pedophilia,” she said. “That’s a whole ‘nother level.”

Then, she took her comments a step further and claimed that Franken has “integrity.”

“Al Franken has integrity,” she asserted.

When conservative commentator Ben Ferguson pressed her on her comments, she said that while she believes Franken needs to be “held accountable,” it is a “slippery slope” to compare Franken to Moore.
