Tennessee will reportedly no longer hire Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano after waves of backlash when news initially leaked.
Fans lost their minds on social media and protested at the stadium over the possibility of hiring Schiano. It looks like all their efforts worked.
I’m beginning to hear that TENNESSEE & GREG SCHIANO could be walking away from the agreement to make him the HC…..all tied to the backlash coming out as a result of it fan base and numerous political figures from within the state…..stay tuned

Greg Schiano is currently concerned with the climate of the Tennessee fan base and the reaction towards reports of his contract being finalized at Tennessee. The deal may not get finalized.

Just got off the phone with a prominent UT booster who said he has been furious all day over the handling of this and that the deal with Schiano now being called off does nothing to alleviate the anger over the whole situation.

I can’t remember a time fans ever torpedoed a hiring in a situation like this, assuming of course the reports hold true.
What a wild situation we’re all watching evolve down in Tennessee. It’s absolutely crazy, and I can’t wait to find out how it all comes together.
