Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano’s name is being thrown around as a likely hire for the Tennessee Volunteers head football coach position, and fans are irate.
The news broke Sunday about the potential hire. It didn’t take long for fans to blow the lid off on social media. People seem particularly upset about the fact Schiano allegedly knew about the sex scandal at Penn State without doing anything to stop Jerry Sandusky’s horrific acts.
Hey @John_Currie if you are hiring Greg Schiano do us all a favor and resign at the press conference. Absolute disgrace.

Hey @John_Currie you need to resign right now and let me make the fucking hire. This is unacceptable. I will hire the next Tennessee coach and then resign. And I will do better than you will.

Greg Schiano knew about child rape at Penn State and kept quiet according to court testimony. Disgraceful of Vols: https://t.co/co4v7E9VYa

I would rather rehire Butch Jones than Greg Schiano.

Oh my God.
We’re actually getting Greg Schiano. They’re really gonna do this to us. https://t.co/DBuKkv3oHh

Greg Schiano was 20 games UNDER .500 in the Big East. Home run indeed… https://t.co/rLQ1V3XJn4

I refuse to believe that Tennessee would consider hiring Greg Schiano.
We’ve had months to be looking and talking and we might settle for a coordinator with a losing record as a head coach who MAY have covered up child rape?
Might as well just bulldoze Neyland.

I can certainly sympathize with fans who thought Jon Gruden was on his way to town and instead you get Greg Schiano.
That’s a pretty big drop off in coaching talent, especially with the baggage that comes with Schiano.
