Students erupted into chants throughout Tennessee’s basketball game Wednesday night in support of firing athletic director John Currie.
Currie has somehow masterfully botched the search for the school’s next football coach, and people are showing their displeasure.
They say, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” but honestly, pissed off college sports fans might be worse. Currie got a little taste of that from his own student section when they constantly erupted into “Fire Currie” chants.
Here’s another look at the “Fire Currie” chants. Been on and off for most of the first half. pic.twitter.com/45xjlNzIm4

Is there any way Currie’s career with the Volunteers survives this backlash? It seems like the whole state has turned on him ever since he tried to hire Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano.
The state is in open revolt against him and the athletic department as a whole. I’m not sure he could hire Bill Belichick and people would be happy enough to not want him fired.
College football fans are truly the best.
