Rumors are swirling that Tennessee’s next coach is going to be Mike Leach, and I’m absolutely all in.
The reports first broke late Thursday night. It didn’t take long before they spread like wildfire across Twitter.
Sources tell @NBCDFWSports that former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach is working on a deal to become the next coach at Tennessee. A deal could be announced Friday. I’m working on more details.

I’m being told that the meeting between Tennessee and Mike Leach went on for couple of hours and went well….(And congrats on hanging on for 2 hours with Mike –that can be a challenge I can attest)…Let’s see if they agree on a deal…expect some word Friday…..

I wanted Mike Leach when Tennessee hired Kiffin the first time in 2008. This would be fantastic. Vol fans would have ensured a top hire.

Idk if there’s ever been a more perfect match of fan base and coach as Mike Leach and Tennessee

I don’t want to take credit for this, but I have been consistently been floating this idea ever since Butch Jones got fired. I wanted Leach at Tennessee long before any of that garbage started with Greg Schiano.
How does the athletic director go from Greg Schiano and the North Carolina State coach to now possibly getting Mike Leach? That’s like a four turning you down at a party and you end up going home with a supermodel who also has a shockingly impressive sense of humor. If you can’t get the fours and fives, how are you supposed to end up with supermodels? It just doesn’t make sense, but college football rarely does.
I pray this becomes real.
