New York Republican Rep. Peter King blasted former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon Wednesday morning for supporting former Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
“It’s not a political issue but a moral issue … this guy does not belong on the national stage,” King said on CNN’s “New Day.” “[Bannon] looks like some disheveled drunk who wandered on to the political stage.”

King’s criticism comes hours after Moore lost the special election to Democratic candidate Doug Jones. Bannon was one of Moore’s most vocal supporters and campaigned with him across Alabama, despite several women accusing Moore of sexual misconduct. King also tweeted Wednesday that the Republican Party should rid itself of Steve Bannon.
“After Alabama disaster GOP must do right thing and DUMP Steve Bannon. His act is tired, inane and morally vacuous,” King wrote. “If we are to Make America Great Again for all Americans, Bannon must go! And go NOW!!”
