Jaromir Jagr’s legendary NHL career appears that is has finally ended.
The Calgary Flames got Jagr to clear waivers, and he’s now headed overseas. This almost certainly brings an end to one of the greatest NHL careers we’ve ever seen.

What a crazy run Jagr had. Absolutely unbelievable. He was in the NHL before I was even born, and I’m nearly 26 years old. He played in eight all-star games before kids who are currently seniors in high school were even born.
Let that sink in for a second. Imagine that if it happened to anybody else. Nobody, and I mean nobody, would ever believe that it was real. His career longevity is something we will likely never ever see from anybody ever again in any sport. Jagr didn’t just start playing in the NHL in 1990. He dominated for multiple decades. How many other athletes can you think of that have decades of domination under their belt? There aren’t many that come to mind.
Hopefully, he enjoys his final years playing in Czech Republic. He’s certainly earned the right to do just about whatever he wants in the sports world at this point. Eventually, we definitely his hair back on the bench as a coach in the NHL. That’d be legendary.
