The first trailer for Netflix and Sam Worthington’s “The Titan” was released Wednesday.
Most details about the film aren’t known, but the YouTube description states, “A military family takes part in a ground-breaking experiment of genetic evolution and space exploration.”
The trailer makes it seem like Worthington is going to be genetically engineered into some kind of beast that turns against his own people. It’s not exactly the most original sci-fi idea that we’ve ever heard, but anything with Worthington is worth giving a shot.
I certainly wasn’t disappointed by the trailer.
It’s an interesting idea and concept to wonder if it’s even possible to genetically engineer humans to change rapidly for a different planet. It’s obviously not, but it’s fun to embrace the debate about if it was.
Plus, Worthington’s “Avatar” was another fascinating sci-fi film. Can he go two for two? I think odds are probably pretty high.
