The way President Trump celebrated Easter was very different from former President Barack Obama.

Unlike President Obama, Trump never had the urge to lecture Christians.

In 2015, Obama said at the Easter Prayer Breakfast:

“On Easter, I do reflect on the fact that as a Christian, I am supposed to love.  And I have to say that sometimes when I listen to less than loving expressions by Christians, I get concerned.  But that’s a topic for another day.”

President Trump had no similar inclination to lecture the faithful in his Easter message:

“For Christians, we remember the suffering and death of God’s only son and his glorious resurrection on the third day,” Trump said. “On Easter Sunday, we proclaim with joy, ‘Christ is risen.'”

President Trump also honored the Jewish holiday of Passover.

“During the sacred holiday of Passover, Jewish families around the world give thanks to God for liberating the Jewish people from bondage in Egypt and delivering them to the promised land of Israel,” he said. (RELATED: Exceeding Eggs-pectations: Trump Treats Kids To Easter Egg Roll At White House)
