Rose Namajunas might be my new favorite UFC star.
Namajunas defended her title this weekend at UFC 223 against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and she looked outstanding while doing it.

I don’t know what it is about Namajunas, but there’s just something I can’t help but love. She’s got that spirit of a warrior you’re simply born with or you’re not. There’s no middle ground.

I nearly died this weekend with an unknown illness that would have put most people in a casket. Despite my incredible sickness, I stayed up into the early morning hours of Sunday to watch UFC 223, and Namajunas put on a show in the octagon.
Now, she doesn’t have the looks that somebody like Paige VanZant has, but she’s got a fighting ability that is incredible.

Maybe it’s the fact we’re both the same age, and we’re both from Wisconsin. I really can’t put a finger on it, but there’s just something about Namajunas that makes me cheer for her no matter who she is fighting.
You can just tell she’s got a serious edge to her, and I mean that in the best way possible. What type of woman would honestly look at Namajunas and think they could win? It’s not going to happen.
I hope she sticks around for a very long time, and keeps cracking skulls. From one kid from Wisconsin to another, I’ll be there cheering for her the whole way.
